FAQs

DOES HAVING SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP STOP YOUR HAIR FROM GROWING?

No. The procedure does not affect the present hair follicles. The hair will grow as normal,and will still require the normal maintenance, eg waxing, threading, to keep the shapegroomed and in line with your new look.

ARE MY EYEBROW HAIRS REMOVED BEFORE SEMI PERMANENT MAKEUP?

No. This is a myth, as Tattoo artists will normally shave an area to help see where theirdesign is being placed, before they start. Permanent make–up artists enhance what youalready have, and wouldn’t take away something that is abenefit to you! Untidy hairs thatare not in the shape of the final look will be removed, to achieve a groomed brow. (Pleasedon’t shave or over pluck your brows before coming to us as this can affect the implantationof pigment)

IS IT PAINFUL?

Everyone’spain threshold is different, therefore, we cannot answer this question with a yesor no answer. However, what we will say is that we use numbing cream prior to theprocedure and numbing lotion during the application to keep you comfortable. Pain isminimised and controlled.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

This will vary between each person, as many factors are taken into account. Factors includeyour natural skin type and the skincare products you use, colour chosen, for example lightercolours like blondes will require more maintenance than darker shades. Sun bed users andsun lovers will fade quicker due to UV light. Certain medical conditions and medication willall contribute to fading over time, though the expectation can be anywhere between 6months and 5 years.

IS THERE A RISK OF INFECTION?

Safety and health are our priorities. At all times we adhere to the strictest sterilisationprocedures. Only new sterile disposable needles, which are opened in front of each client,are used for your complete safety. Everything is cleaned and sterilised between clients, theroom, the bed, the lamp, the trolley, and anything we have touched by a gloved hand. Wehave been trained to exacting hygiene standards.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?

Surface healing is 7 to 10 days,however, it takes a MINIMUM of 28 days to see the finalresult of your permanent make up. It can take up to 2 months depending on age andcondition of the skin. The older you are the longer the healing process between treatments

WHAT IS THE HEALING PERIOD LIKE?

Healing is minimal to moderate in discomfort and inconvenience. It is different for everyindividual. It is skin type dependant, eg if you have an oily skin type you will heal differentlyto someone with dry skin. You can expect slight flaky skin,itchiness, fading and patchiness,this is all normal! The pigment can fade and will resurface again once it has settled in theskin (usually 4 weeks).

CAN I GO TO THE BEACH OR SUN BEDS?

No, it is advised to avoid direct sunlight while eyebrows are still healing. At least for 7 daysdon’t get any tan on your face. Use towel or hat to cover up. After eyebrows are fully healeduse SPF while tanning to maintain the colour of your eyebrows.

CAN I EXERCISE AFTER MY TREATMENT?

It is highly recommended to avoidphysical activities such as gym or running. Any activeexcising that involves sweating, moisture or wetness should be stopped for 7 days. Toachieve the best results keep the area completely dry for 7 days.

IS A CONSULTATION REQUIRED?

We always consult with you on the day of your appointment and discuss shape, colour, looketc however you can book a separate consultation if you would like to meet the Artist andhave any questions or concerns before you book also we need to see you if you have hadprevious work elsewhere and are looking for correction work or advice.
